Plans

Many of you have asked us to keep you up-to-date on what we've been busy with, so we figured it was time to start a blog. Not that we mind telling the same story dozens of times, of course, but if you happen to be on the other side of the world from where we happen to be, that's a little challenging.

Where are we now? At the moment we're in Hamilton, Ontario, but that won't last long. This past semester, I (Tim) have been working on a diploma of missiology at the Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary. This has involved reading about various mission-related topics. I'm nearing the completion of this part of our preparations for Papua New Guinea; I have yet to write a paper.

In the coming months, we have a few short courses to complete yet. These will focus on learning culture and language - not specifically for PNG so much as tools to equip missionaries headed anywhere in the world to adjust well to their new surroundings.

By June we hope to arrive in Australia. There, I hope to be examined by classis, and be ordained. After spending a month or two getting acquainted with the Free Reformed Churches there, we plan to go to PNG.

Shortly after our arrival there, we plan to begin our training in PNG culture and language. By the end of the year we will finally be able to get to work in Lae.

These are our plans as they stand now, but we leave the future in God's hands.
