We greet you from beautiful British Columbia, our new temporary home. We've packed up and shipped off most of our earthly possessions. (Can the months-long process of getting ready to move to the other side of the world actually be conveyed in just one sentence?) People often asked us, "So, how does it feel to be moving to PNG?" The question often caught us off-guard since at that point we weren't actually contemplating our future in PNG so much as merely trying to survive the remaining days of disorder and deadlines. However, in the midst of the chaos, we squeezed in countless social visits to try to say a proper good-bye to so many dear ones.
Now we will be living out of suitcases for the next few months, dependent on the hospitality of others kindly lending us the comfort of the place they call home. It is a blessing to be in BC for a length of time that allows Tim to prepare for his upcoming classis exam without distraction, and for me to relax with Avigail. We're living a sort of timeless existence with little routine and few social commitments. It still doesn't really feel like we're "almost there." But we are using this time to regroup, reconnect, refocus. We need your prayers as much as ever, as this stage in our journey has its unique challenges. As always, we need the grace of God to carry us along.
